Statement of The Belgian Transplantation Society

The support to the people of Syria and Turkey

The Belgian Transplantation Society (BTS) devoted to healthcare and medical services, expresses grave concern over the humanitarian disaster in Syria and Turkey.

Following the devastating earthquake that happened on Monday February 6, 2023 in Turkey and Syria, more than 50000 people have lost their lives and tens of thousands have been wounded. Charitable catastrophe is presented in these countries. The solidarity strengths are ongoing more than one month after the quake struck to safe peoples and recover the infrastructures from all over the world including Belgium.

Belgian Transplantation Society is well aware about the distractions and disaster caused by this earthquake what initiated the enormous humanitarian devastation and limitation the access to the healthcare in Turkey and Syria.

We are looking to support our colleagues, friends, patients and citizens impacted by this disaster.

We are shown our solidarity with Turkey and Syria by matching the contribution of our society.
