Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the BTS, I would like to take this opportunity and encourage you and your contemporaries, showing an interest in transplantation, to join the Belgium Transplantation Society and to apply for new membership or to renew your existing membership.

Our membership is truly multi-disciplinary and includes surgeons, physicians, transplant coordinators, local coordinators, specialist nurses, pharmacists, H&I and basic scientists, psychiatrists and psychologists, trainees/fellows enrolled in a medical, nursing or allied health professional training program in the field of organ donation and transplantation, allied health care professionals engaged in the field of organ donation and transplantation or an associated arena or any hospital administrator with direct institutional responsibility for organ donation and transplantation. A not-for-profit or charitable organization whose mission includes support of organ donation and transplantation or businesses and pharma’s with the objective of healthcare development and research in the field of the organ and tissue donation and transplantation are although welcome.

The principal requirement for membership is an active interest in basic science, clinical research and/or improving clinical practice in the field of transplantation. All members must display prior and sustained interest in the field.

Becoming a BTS member offers a unique opportunity to play an active role in the field of solid organ transplantation and organ donation in Belgium. By bringing together all stakeholders in the field, BTS improves collaboration between centers. Further, the BTS provides continue education for health care professionals to increase the quality of the care for potential organ donors, for transplant candidates and transplant recipients.
